OUR MISSION:
To Create & Teach Theater With Mindfulness.
Our ensemble of professional artists create innovative performances using movement and mindfulness techniques. Our teachers cultivate a compassionate environment in which emerging artists learn how to build a balanced creative life.
CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 UPDATE
Dear Friends of Enso,
Hey all. We're living in some strange, stressful times. We (the Enso Ensemble) have postponed our June production of East of the Sun, West of the Moon, but we still want to provide you sources of mindfulness & entertainment during this uncertainty. So, here's some online content we're creating to keep you grounded and finding joy. If you have suggestions for other things you'd like to see, please let Caitlin know at caitlin@ensotheatre.com. Thank you!
With love,
Caitlin & the Ensemble

ONLINE Follow-ALONG Mindfulness Practices:
ENSO HAS WORK TO DO.
Hi everyone, Caitlin and the ensemble here.
We are moved to conversation, investigation and action by the Black Lives Matter movement and protests, spurred by the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others at the hands of white police officers.
We stand with all activists and organizers fighting to end white supremacy and the centuries of systemic, violent oppression of BIPOC at the hands of law enforcement.
Despite our efforts to build a mindful, safer theater space Enso has not done the racial diversity, equity and inclusion work to truly encompass a safer space for all.
This work is long overdue. We have a lot of listening and learning ahead.
Up to this point, our company members have been primarily white. We have begun bi-weekly conversations to intentionally confront our privilege and the systemic racism our white company members benefit from.
We are making an on-going commitment to investigate our internal racial biases, dismantle and examine our company culture, mission and practices, and then to rebuild - with equitable policies/processes supported by continual insight and growth.
For us, that means putting projects on pause, until we feel we’ve pulled apart our normal processes and rebuilt them. This includes our next project, East of the Sun, West of the Moon.
We acknowledge that until our words are reinforced with action, they are just words.
We will take the time that is needed to support our actions with care and mindfulness.
If you would like to get in touch with us please send an email to caitlin@ensotheatre.com. We've included resources below that we have/are engaging(ed) with ourselves and found helpful.
We look forward to bringing you more stories made with mindfulness, soon.

Mindfulness & Healing:
|
"I think that Enso's mindfulness approach to theatre creation and education is not only innovative, but necessary in a 21st century world where attention is shifting nearly as fast as our communication platforms."
- Jeremy Hohn, Enso enthusiast
WhY mindfulness?Mindful techniques like meditation, check-ins, and yoga generate heightened awareness and compassion in our rehearsal room, auditions and meetings. This creates a safer, more trusting environment for us to do what we do best: tell beautiful, moving stories!
|
How can I support?Enso Theatre Ensemble is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that relies on the donations of people like you to keep our shows and classes accessible to everyone. Donations of EVERY size are felt deeply in our small organization!
Thanks for being our fuel to create with mindfulness! |
How Can My Business Support? If you own a business and you'd like to partner with us, reach out! Partnerships we've done in the past have included in-kind donations, sponsorships, and ad space in our program (+ friendly shout-outs before the show!).
